Medieval Viking Chess modernized!
An asymmetric game where the black and white players differ in the number of pieces they use and their objectives. The white player wins by capturing the black king between his pieces, while the black player wins by getting the king to the corner of the board.
The medieval “Hnefatafl,” said to have been played by the Vikings, has been revived by Kevin Kane of Nexus Games as a modern game using the hexagonal board. It’s a good idea to take turns playing as White and Black.
